While I was growing up, everything I owned was pink! I love pastels, and it is a color that I could wear to an Indian wedding or the Met Gala! When I sat down to brainstorm ideas about my first New York fashion week collection, the only color that came to mind was BLUSH! I knew that my collection had to represent me and my dual culture. My collection represents a woman who is bold and fierce but who hasn’t lost her femininity. She is not afraid of being beautiful and owning the simplicity of her beauty. While sourcing fabrics in India and working with my team of dyers, I wanted to create a muted blush color using flowy and delicate fabrics such as tulle, satin, and georgette. This collection shows my versatility as a designer, where I can create a casual jumpsuit and an extravagant bridal gown using the same aesthetic.
